The surface that owns a conversation.

A closed set. The engine writes the kind when it creates the conversation, and the kind never changes. A turn that names another kind is refused 409.

  • assistant — the chat of sendMessage / sendMessageStream.
  • guided_ontology — the guided ontology builder, recorded with recordTurn.
  • generative_ui — the conversation of ui.generate.
  • external_agent — an agent that records its own turns with recordTurn.
