What DELETE /api/v1/sorts/{id} does about the sort’s terms.

refuse (the default) leaves the sort and its terms alone and answers 400 (sort_holds_terms). delete removes the terms with the sort.

Only DATA terms count. The terms that carry a rule’s conclusion and antecedent patterns are the rule’s scaffolding, not the sort’s data: they are neither counted nor cascaded, so an orphaned rule keeps every part.
