What a rule’s pass or fail rests on, as the evaluator classifies it.

Remarks

Section titled “Remarks”
  • quoted_violation — the quoted excerpt shows that the condition is violated.
  • quoted_compliance — the quoted excerpt shows that the condition holds.
  • stated_unknown — the document states that the evidence is pending, unknown, lost, redacted or not yet decided.
  • absence — the complete document lacks the element the rule is about.

The engine holds the basis and the status together: a pass or fail whose basis does not agree with it (a stated_unknown or missing basis included) is withheld and reported inconclusive (see DocumentRuleResult.withheldStatus).
